Randy Yager, Animal Behaviorist

Randy’s love for animals and interest in their behavior started very early. When he was a little boy he ordered his first dog training book by saving box tops off milk bones packages, and has been training dogs ever since.

Randy first worked at the shelter in the early 1970’s after school as a part time animal care staff. He owned and operated ”The Dog Place”, from 1991 to 2010, which offered pet boarding, pet grooming, and dog training. Randy re-joined the Capital Humane Society in 2010 once again on the animal care staff. In June 2011, Randy moved into the Animal Behaviorist/Foster care coordinator position. Randy says this is a dream job for him.

In his spare time he enjoys going fishing with his sons, and competing in the dog sport of Schutzhund with his Belgian Malinois.
